Weekend Plans #5

Holy crap, it’s February!  Can you believe that I started this blogging project a month ago already?  I love it, I’m glad I decided to do this, and I’m increasingly amazed and thrilled with the responses I’ve been getting.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for a wonderful first month of blogging!

This weekend is exciting, because it’s the weekend of my first Pop-Up!  Less than two weeks ago, I joined Chloe + Isabel, and I am just so excited to be a part of this company.  And this Pop-Up is my grand opening!

So, without further ado, here is a breakdown of my weekend:


Yesterday was spent at work, unfortunately.  But, alas, I need to make some money and get some homework down, right?[i]  After work, I drove to my hometown (with a quick stop at home to pick up my things and see H and Ole) and went straight to the grocery store.  My job for the night was to get the goodies ready for the Pop-Up, and let me tell you, I love this part.  Baking is one of my favorite things to do, and cooking is fast becoming something I enjoy as well (as long as I have a recipe to follow).  The snack menu for the Pop-Up is as follows:

  • Dipped Pretzels – Pretzels dipped in different kinds of chocolate and coated with either heath bars, oreos, or sprinkles
  • Crescent Pepperoni Roll-Ups – Pillsbury crescent rolls with pepperoni and half of a stick of string cheese in side, with pizza dipping sauce
  • Tortilla chips with Queso Dip – My personal favorite queso dip, made from Velveeta and Rotel.
  • Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies – I can’t even pretend these aren’t my new favorite things in the entire world.  I found the recipe on Pinterest, made them for H and I over MLK weekend, and we devoured them in less than a week.  They are the best.

So, it’s easy to see that I was busy busy on Friday evening!


I was up early for a haircut with my favorite stylist at my hometown’s Aveda salon, and then I spent the rest of the morning preparing for the Pop-Up.  What does that entail?  Baking the cookies (because the dough needed to be chilled overnight), heating up the queso dip, setting up my displays, making sure I have everything ready for people to arrive.  The party starts in the afternoon!  I’m hoping for a decent turnout, but I’ll take anything I can get.  Then it’s clean up time, and on to my next project…

Which is thanking my parents for hosting my first party by making them dinner.  H and I tried out this awesome stuffed pepper recipe last weekend, and I want to make that for my parents tonight.  So that’s the plan!


Sunday will finally be a rest day for me.  I’m planning on heading back home in the late morning so that I have time to relax with H before the week starts all over again.  I don’t have any big plans for Sunday, which is good, because I think I’m going to need that time to recuperate from the rest of the weekend!

Like I said at the beginning of the year, H and I are usually kept extremely busy on the weekends.  And this weekend is no different!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some things to do.  🙂


[i] Yes, I do my homework at work.  I’d never be able to balance it all otherwise.  I also do most of my blog writing at work.  I was blessed with this easy (yet unfulfilling) job somehow, and I’m trying to be more grateful for that.
