“Burn” by Ellie Goulding

Listen here.

From the very first time I heard this song, I knew I was going to be obsessed with it.  I’m not sure what exactly it is about it, but I really like Ellie Goulding, so that probably helped.

I think the first two lines of the song are actually my favorites:

We, we don’t have to worry about nothing

Because we’ve got the fire, and we’re burning one hell of a something

I think what I like about it is it’s a different take on love.  She’s not singing about how good her guy looks in certain clothes (which is often the case with country songs, although I think it’s more common in guys singing about girls) or how great the sex is (which seems to be like every other type of music).  The song is about how great they are together, and I love that.

That’s why I like the song.  It reminds me of H and I, because I have never known another person who fits with me like he does.  He’s my lobster.  And maybe we are like a fire that isn’t going to burn out.
