“Mean to Me” by Brett Eldredge

Today is a special day, and it needs a song to go along with it.

It’s H and my two-year dating anniversary! And, more importantly, it’s our last dating anniversary before we get a wedding anniversary. Which is exciting news! (257 days, for the record.)

This song is beautiful. I love it.

If I could be the fire in your firefly

The cool in your rain

The spark in your eye

The answer to your prayer

And the faith that sets you free

Then I’d be what you mean to me

Two years ago today, I asked H to attend a family Christmas celebration with me later in the month. He accepted, and then asked if it meant we were dating. I said yes, since that had been my goal all along—to get him to say we were dating. It worked, and now we laugh about my slight manipulation of him. Girls, we have to get our men to admit these things one way or another, right? 🙂

H, if you’re reading this, I love you very much, and I am so glad you put up with my crazy, and my deadlines, and everything. I’m very happy that you want to marry me. Thank you for opening up your life to me, sharing your dog with me, and for continuing to laugh with me about Arrested Development, Finding Nemo, and other silly things that only we find funny.AA(62)sw

That’s what you mean to me.

Love, A.
