Family is Always Most Important

Today was a sad day in my family.  We celebrated the life of my dad’s only aunt, who died earlier this week.  It was a celebration, like I said, but it was difficult.  There were tears, and there was laughter.  It was one of those events that can do one of two things.  It can bring everyone together or tear everyone apart.

One thing that I love about my family is that we are always brought back together.

Today was the first time I’ve seen some of my extended family in years.  But it was one of those things where we always pick up where we left off.  It was so nice to laugh with family, to talk about life and love and to remember the good times.

I’m glad I had this day with them.  I’m sorry that it had to happen the way it did, but I’m glad that we got to be together.

Because family is always the most important, after all.
