As my time in India is coming to a close, I have been reimagining my life on this blog. A lot of changes have occurred in my life since I last updated the look and feel – I got married, we moved, I started traveling for work a lot more (hello, I’m in India), and I’ve recommitted myself to fitness (I’d been slipping for the last several months… okay, if I’m being honest, I haven’t really gotten back on track since I got hurt back in January 2014). This all started taking form in my head since I’ve been in India. There’s something about being dragged away from your normal life and forced into something completely outside of your comfort zone that does that to a person. Ha.
There are some new features on the blog:
- I added some of my more common categories (such as episode recaps and fitness posts) to the menu at the top as sub menus. I’ve been learning how to code, which inspired me to make my blog more user friendly. I’ll admit that I haven’t reached the point yet where I can create my own themes and what not just with HTML and CSS, but that is the eventual goal. But go ahead and look at the new categories. It will be fun!
- I added my Etsy site as a direct link, rather than a page with some more words in it. How’s that for user friendly! Check out my Etsy shop later in October – I have some big plans for that, too.
- I’m going to start posting recipes! In fact, there’s a whole menu category called “Domesticity,” where I’m hoping to write more about settling into life as a married person in an apartment that is about half the size of our last one. Since I ran away to India soon after we moved in, that stuff still needs to get organized. Check back later for more on “Home Life.” Anyway, back to the recipes. I have the tendency to alter recipes that I make for several reasons: 1) H has many allergies that we have to work around, which often means substitutions; 2) I have the tendency to forget ingredients when I grocery shop, so we have to substitute a lot; and 3) I’m kind of a picky eater. Together, this means I rarely follow recipes to the letter. But then I don’t remember exactly what I did last time! That’s why I’m going to start recording them.
- I added a contact form! Mostly just for fun. Feel free to drop a line whenever you want to!
I do intend to post more often in the coming months. I’m going to try to set up a schedule for myself. Blogging was so fun and such a release for me during the 2014 year, and it fell off with trying to finish up a Master’s degree, work two jobs, get married, and then move across the country. Once I return from India, things should settle down. I’ll be back to running and TV show recapping before you know it!
Speaking of TV show recapping – I’m missing the first couple weeks of How to Get Away with Scandal! But I’ll be back, don’t you worry.
I also am hoping to post some more book reviews in the next couple of weeks – I’ve been reading a lot while I’ve been in India.
I better get back to work. (I should clarify – I’ve already worked an 8 hour day, but we have a deadline looming, and I took a break to put some of the things I’ve been thinking about into action. I should get back to it now.)
With love from India,
